How to Prepare

  • For the safety of our guests, staff and community, please read and abide by our COVID-19 Safety Measures. (Link)

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your guide, collect your bike, use the toilet and make any required adjustments to your bike.  We have some space for a practice ride.

  • Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.  Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather, it is always worthwhile to have a waterproof just in case.  Gloves are also worthwhile.

  • Bringing layers is always a good idea unless the weather is hot and sunny (yeah, right!) - we will only not ride if severe weather makes it unsafe to ride (e.g. ice, high winds etc.)

  • Bring a phone or camera to take photos of the sights along the way.

  • Wear sunscreen and/or sunglasses if it is due to be sunny (if you are lucky!).

  • We will provide a bottle of water and some fruit. If you feel like you or your group will need more than this, then you are welcome to bring your own.

  • If you have any medical concerns, please bring your medications with you. Guides are not certified to administer these medications, but it is important that they are aware of your health needs and will assist in any emergency.

  • We will provide helmets, access to water (bring your own bottle) and of course our lovely refurbished bikes

  • Toilets are available at the start and end of your cycle and we don't have any planned toilet stops.

Your Belongings

We are located in a great central spot.  The building is very safe and has a nice community feel shared with multiple other organisations. During the tour we lock our room and you are welcome to leave a bag in the room, however, as we share the building with multiple other organisations and there are so many people passing through the building, you leave a bag at your own risk.  Similarly, as much as Glasgow is actually a very safe city, we would advise not displaying valuables on your ride.  Ultimately, Gallus Pedals will not be held liable for any missing or damaged items either left in our building or taken out on the bikes.

How to Find Us

We are located in The Pentagon Building on Washington Street which is the street off Argyle Street and opposite the Marritot.  We're closer to the Argyle Street end than the Clyde end.  If you're travelling by bike, you can swap your bike with one of ours or of course you're welcome to use your own.  If arriving by train, Anderson station is a short 5 minute walk whilst it is a 10 minute walk from Glasgow Central  (be sure to exit from Argyle street exit to save time).  The Marriot bus stop on Argyle street is a 2 minute walk (routes 1,1A,!B,1C,1D,1E,59,X4 and 100 all stop here).
