FAQs

WHAT TOURS DO YOU OFFER?

Our current tour offerings are listed on our Tours page.  We also offer a range of other tours however these are not currently available to book online such as a Corporate tour, a Bike and Mindfulness tour, and a Pints and Pedals tour.

WHAT IF IT IS RAINING OR BAD WEATHER?

Safety is our number one priority. If raining, we still ride - please wear appropriate clothing. If heavy, torrential rain/wind/sleet, etc and poses a danger, then we shall postpone the tour. If you cannot make the new date, a full refund will be given, but please be aware that rainfall is a common occurrence in Scotland and we do ride in the rain.

If the weather changes for the worst during the ride, I may make the call to shorten the ride to return for safety reasons.

CAN I USE MY BIKE?

Yes, you can use your bikes. However please ensure they are in good working order and you have prepared before our tour, eg, tires pumped up, chain lubricated, etc.  If you are bringing an E-bike, please make sure your battery is charged and all necessary checks are done before our tour.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

For cancellations due to health reasons, we will at our discretion, offer a full refund.

In some circumstances, we may need to cancel or amend the timings or location of the ride without notice in circumstances beyond our control.  When the ride is canceled or amended by us, then we will provide customers with either a full refund or transfer their booking to a different date.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY TOUR?

Read the guidance notes on pre-tour information (link here).

All guests will need to sign a waiver and listen to the pre-tour briefing before departure.

WHAT IF I AM RUNNING LATE?

Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to avoid this.  We aim for all our tours to leave exactly at the scheduled time so if you are late, you may miss the tour.  If there are some legitimate reasons for being late then Gallus Pedals may be able to accommodate you on a different day, we would not however offer a refund or reduced fee.

IS THE RIDE SAFE?

We have planned our routes with safety as the top priority. We will however sometimes cycle on roads with traffic and occasionally cycle through areas with lots of pedestrians.  Customers must adhere to all instructions provided during the safety briefing and follow specific instructions given by the guide at all times during the ride. Ultimately, all customers are responsible for their safety and we will not be liable for any injuries caused to the customer during the tour, on or off the bicycle. All customers must exercise due care and diligence when cycling. By agreeing to go on the tour, customers accept there is an element of risk involved and we recommend customers have their insurance in place.

LIABILITY

You understand that participating in a cycle ride may involve risks and that you are undertaking a cycling trip with inherent dangers. You accept these risks and you will not hold ‘us' responsible for any liabilities connected to these risks.
