BEFORE YOUR TOUR
How to Prepare
-
IMPORTANT - If you haven't already done so, complete your online waiver here (a new window should open)
-
FOLLOW US to get a feel for our tours (Instagram - Facebook - Twitter - Linkedin)
-
We will provide helmets and of course our cool refurbished bikes.
-
Please arrive 5-10 minutes minutes early to check in with your guide, collect your bike, use the toilet and make any required adjustments to your bike. We have some space for a practice ride.
-
Dress appropriately for the weather - bringing layers is always a good idea even if the weather is forecast to be hot and sunny (yeah, right!) - we will only not ride if severe weather makes it unsafe to ride (e.g. ice, high winds etc.) so always worthwhile to have a waterproof just in case. Gloves are also worthwhile. We do get 4 seasons in one day sometimes :)
-
Bring a phone or camera to take photos of the sights and the journey along the way.
-
Wear sunscreen and/or sunglasses if it is due to be sunny.
-
We sometimes provide a small snack to consume whenever we take a break. If you feel like you or your group will need more than this, then you are welcome to bring your own.
-
Please bring your own water bottle as we try to cut down on plastic consumption.
-
A very small backpack may be useful to store your small items such as water bottle, phone and any extra layers you think you may need.
-
If you have any medical concerns, please bring your medications with you. Guides are not certified to administer these medications, but it is important that they are aware of your health needs and will assist in any emergency.
-
We strongly recommend using the toilets at the start of your tour (!) Whilst we have had a toilet stop on close to 100% of our tours thus far, we can't guarantee these will always be available don't assume you will be able to use one when on tour.
Your Belongings
During the tour, we lock our room and you are welcome to leave a bag in the room, however, as we share the building with multiple other organizations and there are so many people passing through the building, you leave a bag at your own risk. Similarly, as much as Glasgow is a very safe city, we would advise not displaying valuables on your ride. Ultimately, Gallus Pedals will not be held liable for any missing or damaged items either left in our building or taken out on the bikes.
